Various groups from the Berlin road safety sector were up early at Berlin's Tempelhofer Feld on 30th August to raise awareness and confidence about the challenge of getting to school for children starting school. We were also there with our reflective sticker craft workshop for kids.
They are small, inexperienced and exposed to greater danger in road traffic. The Bürgerstiftung Berlin has therefore once again organized the "Sichtbar mobil zur Schule" ("Visibly mobile to school") campaign day on behalf of the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment. Around 200 pupils gathered there to learn practical tips on how to get to school safely.
Many organisations helped contribute to a varied programme, with a total of 20 stations to prepare the children for this challenge. The BVG, police, ADAC, BUND, ADFC and Wendepunkt GmbH, which operates traffic training areas in various districts of Berlin, were all involved. When it came to visibility, we lent our REFLECTIVE Berlin expertise in a sticker workshop.

The majority of the schoolchildren made their own reflective stickers and took them home to decorate their bikes, helmets and scooters. Towards the end of the event, the offer was even taken up by the other providers around us, as self-made reflector stickers are not only fun for children. Pre-made stencils and utensils enable great results in no time at all.
We are very happy to be able to expand our commitment to road safety education and would like to thank the Bürgerstiftung Berlin for this important event, in which only a small proportion of school starters were able to take part.
